Choose LIFE

CHOOSE LIFE!

Dear Friends,

Too many times in life we allow situations or people to slowly kill the very fire that burns in our soul, and eventually we slowly start to just survive or exist. Our passion for living decays and we lose the passion of LIVING, truly LIVING.

I want to share with you that life does not have to be  this empty or cold and that you actually have the strength to LIVE life to its fullest potential no matter the hard ships and pain you have experienced by simply altering a couple of ways we do things in life and think.

I used to read things like this when I was at my lowest and shrug my shoulders and grunt........."WHAT EVER", and think to myself that the person writing all that stupid crap hasn't gone through what I am going through and wouldn't even bother reading any further, BUT I wish I had forced myself earlier to just read it with an open mind like I am going to ask you to do now!!

Don't you ever wonder what your purpose is?? I have often wondered that but lately I seem to have found my reason for my life, besides my children. you see this is what I think, I think that you and I fought so hard to come into this world. We were among thousands and millions of sperm and eggs fighting to win the race of life, and despite the millions which we were against, it was YOU AND I that survived the swim and fight for our place in our mothers womb so we could be a part of this wonderful life. My point being that I , therefore think strength, courage and stamina is in us and always has been, yet when we are faced with adversity and challenges we doubt the strength within us to get us through it all and we start losing the will to fight and eventually succumb to the empty way of living and live a life of death on a daily basis, walking empty souls.

WHAT IS STOPPING YOU FROM LIVING A FULL LIFE? and I mean LIVING, not existing.

My friends, you are the only obstacle standing before your happiness and potential to live a passionate life.
WHY?  simple really.......... you keep thinking of the same negative thoughts over and over again in your head like I did for so many years. Questions like: WHY ME, WHY BOTHER, I HATE MY LIFE, WHAT ELSE IS GOING TO GO WRONG, I KNOW I WILL NEVER BE HAPPY AGAIN, WHY DO BAD THINGS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME........ and the list goes on and on.
I'M SORRY for your hurt, and I'm sorry you are angry and / or bitter about what has happened but are you going to live your life like you have been living it now, for ever??
Are you waking up happy, do you see the beauty in things that happen during the day, do you sit and laugh with your children or friends or partner or do you sit there finding every thing wrong with your day??

What if I had to tell you that your outlook on life and your commitment to living affects those around you WHO NEED YOU MOST. In fact they don't just need you, they need you to be as whole and complete as you can possibly be.

When I lost my younger son, I made sure that I was always around my elder son becasue I knew he was going through such excrutiating pain and confusion, I made sure he was with me at all times and I made sure I spent all my time with him, what I didn't realise is that I may as well have taken a car and driven across the country and stayed there for a few years because that is how much I was mentally and emotionally with Luc (my elder son), I was a walking corpse and of no use to him what so ever, and in fact as time went on my son started to show signs of anger and resentment.

Those emotions were for a couple of reasons, firstly coming to terms with losing his brother, secondly the divorce and thirdly moving out our home, however one thing was pointed out to me 3 and half years later, it was pointed out to me that one of the main reasons he was very angry was that he no longer had the mother he used to have.........HE HAD LOST HER.

When this was pointed out to me I was engulfed with guilt, in all my own pain I had allowed myself to die to life and just be this empty shell. I wasn't this care free , happy, laughing mum anymore. I drank alot at social gatherings , I suffered panic attacks, I would be hospitalised a couple of times per year so that they could sedate me and I wouldn't have to face my pain and I had lost my zest for life.

HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT TO A LITTLE BOY BETWEEN THE AGES OF 5 and 10 years old with them fully understanding?? You cant!! When the child psychologist told me what he did about lucs anger, I decided that it was time to make some drastic changes, it was time to turn my life around and start digging deep for some courage.

First thing was first, I had to start facing Sebastians birthdays and death anniversary"s without sedation, I had to start trying to cope with being in the real world because someone more important than me NEEDED ME and he needed me to be as whole as I could be. When i grasped the concept that this was the case, I found inner strength to start making the changes within me.

I started reading books to help me, I started making an effort to do fun things with Luc and make sure that when we did those things that I was mentally and emotionally WITH HIM IN THE MOMENT, not just physically but my mind somewhere else. I started waking up early in the morning and finding positive readings to start my day, and slowly but surely i started to feel better, I started to live again, and so did my son.

YOU cannot lie down and allow what ever has happened to you to keep you down, you need to find the energy , passion and strength to slowly start changing your ways so that you start seeing the world through beautiful lenses again.

IT IS POSSIBLE YOU KNOW!! I did it. but like I have told you before, it doesn't mean that I am now super human and don't have bad days- dam right I have bad days, but I have promised myself that those bad days will not consume me nor rob my son of the mother he needs, I JUST REFUSE!!!! and you can too!!

Starting block:  why don't you start off by waking up at 5:30 am every day for the next 21 days, and all I am going to ask you to do is to read a positive reading every morning before the day begins. 21 days that's all I am asking...........

I get up every morning at 5 am, I walk outside, pick fresh flowers, fill a little glass with water and place the flowers on the breakfast table. I then light my fresh smelling incense and play some calm music and kick start the day with a positive reading. This equips me to face the day with a good strong mind and a happy heart, which is then contagious to Luc when I wake him and get him ready for school. My son then goes to school feeling secure, happy and peaceful, I LOVE EVERY MORNING GOD GRANTS ME, not because of any other reason but that I CHOOSE TO.

I NOW SEE BEAUTY IN THE FLOWERS I PICK, I SEE BEAUTY IN THE CRISP MORNING AIR, I SEE BEAUTY IN MY CHILD AND REALISE THAT I NEED TO MAINTAIN THIS IN ORDER FOR MY CHILD TO SEE ALL THE BEAUTY THAT I HAVE COME TO SEE.

what do YOU WANT FROM LIFE?? if its a change towards the positive path, lets do it together , I know your challenges , I know the obstacles , and I know the constant courage it will take to get you up every day but you know what YOU CAN DO IT, and I will do it WITH YOU.

CHOOSE LIFE, AND CHOOSE IT TODAY!!

see you bright and early tomorrow morning.

YOU are in my thoughts special friend.

love Nadia

New Morning

YOUR ATTITUDE THIS MORNING IS CONTAGIOUS, MAKE SURE ITS FOR THE RIGHT REASONS.

"If life seems at its lowest ebb,
Because a day's gone wrong.
Let not your heart be troubled,
For a new day soon will dawn

And we can never be quite sure,
Just what it has in store.
Since each one is so different,
Than the one just gone before

As it penetrates the darkness,
With its soft and tranquil beams.
It calms even the most restless soul,
And brings new hopes and dreams

So when a days been troubled,
And the night is dark and long.
Lift up your fallen spirits,
For a new day soon will dawn "

SEIZE THE DAY
BELIEVE IN YOU
OWN YOUR THOUGHTS
LIFT YOUR SPIRITS
KNOW YOU ARE THE BEST
TODAY IT ALL BEGINS
OWN IT

CHOOSE TO OWN IT!!

Happy Day !!

sometimes YOUR HURT becomes anothers MIRACLE

My Gorgeous late son:

Sebastian  Bernard Geyser

Sometimes the miracle we pray for land up becoming the life, strength and life saving miracle to others in some form or other. I believe the Greatest of people have endured some challenging times in their lives and have gone through incredible pain, BUT they made a decision to learn from the pain, strengthen from the scars and create a life helping those in life with similar trials and tribulations. Look at Oprah, had she not had the challenging life she was given, she would not be able to help the millions of people she does today. Look at the AA support groups accross the world, had those first alcoholics who started the groups not lost everything and gone through the pain they had, where would all the support be for the recovering alcholics today? and the list goes on and on.

Sometimes our loses and our trauma's are so deep and raw that we fail to believe that there will ever be another sunrise in our life, or another breath takingly happy moment, yet my friends there eventually is!!
Like with many things in life, it takes a long time to absorb and come to terms with accepting loss or change whereby you are left feeling alone and afraid.

I was angry for many years after I lost my son and felt that the world owed me!! they owed my son for HIS PAIN which I, as a parent felt hopeless I couldnt make better, and they owed us for our pain we were feeling.
BUT life doesnt work like that, in fact, NO ONE owed us anything. I owed my son strength and courage, I owed myself care and acceptance, but no one owed it to me.

As time has passed, I have realised that from many years ago (starting with my self harm), I was given the task of eduring certain things in my life so that I could eventually pull through it all and share with others my story and help them believe and know they TOO can do it.

The day my son stopped breathing, I was on my knees in my driveway throwing myself backwards and forwards begging God to give him back to me. The paramedics were working on him and I negotiated everything and anything with God. God allowed me another 12 hours with him, and tragically the next morning at 1:30 am in ICU he stopped breathing.

This was not my decision to make, I felt it was and I was dam angry that it had been ripped away from me, but something bigger was going on here. Firstly I believe my son was needed to do great work else where and his presence was requested (that thought whether YOU believe it or not, gives ME great comfort, and thats all that matters) and secondly, this was the cross I had been given.

Denial and guilt, denial and guilt was the train of thought and emotion for a long long time following the death of Sebastian!! How and Why???
I should not have worked in my skin care clinic (on my property - down stairs) that day,
WHAT IF I was upstairs and found him a little earlier??
WHAT IF I didnt accept the induction and he wasnt a premature baby???
WHAT IF it was because of the air con??
WHAT IF WHAT IF WHAT IF????????

My friends, we cannot erase what is written in the skies. We cannot un map the path that our future has paved for us, WHAT IF will not bring your loved one back. THERE IS NOTHING you could have done...........!!! no matter the age of your child or how the death happend, remember this, YOU DID WHAT YOU KNEW WAS BEST AND YOU DID IT OUT OF ABSOLUTE LOVE AND ADORATION FOR YOUR CHILD. He / she was needed to do great work else where, and just for now you will be seperated, but find comfort and peace that an eternity awaits all of you together again.

My son may have passed away, and our family may have been distrsught and broken , but one thing that has not happend, is that my son's passing has not been in vain. Its my son's sudden death that has got me where I am today, sitting here writing you this note, reassuring you that YOU WILL BE OK.I have CHOSEN to make dam sure he left for a reason, and that reason was to help you!! COMFORT YOU !!

so YES, your miracles that you ask for may not be answered exactly how you have hoped and prayed, but somewhere , somehow, your hurt has and will become someone else's miracle and strength. FIND COMFORT AND COURAGE IN THAT no death was in vain.

NOW, I have a duty and commitment to fulfill to my beautiful and special older son who deserves me WHOLE AND STRONG AND COURAGEOUS, and therefore I have chosen to turn my challenges I have faced in life into a strength , and courage building triumph and into helping others and into understanding people with compassion rather thatn judging people with my opinion.
I still have bad days, plenty of them, but I have learnt the tools to assist me when I am having those days , I learnt because I chose to FORCE myself to learn to cope, and SO CAN YOU.

BE KIND TO YOURSELF, and when the times is right, GET UP and face the day hour by hour and know that deep within your soul burns a fire so strong that it will give you power to pull through this, because YOU ARE SOMEONE'S HAPPINESS, AND YOU ARE NEEDED BY SOMONE TODAY.

you are in my thoughts

Love Nadia

TODAY YOU CAN CHOOSE TO TURN PAIN, TRAUMA, SADNESS, GULT AND REGRET INTO LIFES LESSONS, DRAW FROM THE PAIN AND LET IT GIVE YOU THE STRENGTH TO MOVE FORWARD..........TAKE THE TOOLS IVE LEARNT THAT ASSIST ME STILL AND USE THEM TO HELP YOU!!  BUILD YOUR LIFE UP AGAIN INTO TRIUMPH AND INSIPRATION SO THAT WHEN YOU TALK , PEOPLE LISTEN.........AND PEOPLE WILL LISTEN BECAUSE YOU HAVE BEEN THERE, NOT BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU KNOW IT ALL.

5 AWESOME THINGS TO SAY TO SOMEONE TODAY

5 AWESOME THINGS TO SAY TO SOMEONE TODAY

1.Take your time, its ok

This is nice to say to someone who is learning a new job, eg the cashier at the grocery store, the restaurant waiter or the person trying to help you at the take away place. We all had to learn something new at some stage of out lives and we all remember what it was like to get nervous and feel like you cant do the job because of the sudden pressure staring at you. Be patient. Increase their confidence, don't decrease it.

2. 3 people were actually saying how good you are looking these days, I just thought I would tell you.

We always find it necessary to repeat the gossip, the nasty things, the things we may not even know are 100 percent true, yet we will focus on that. What ever happened to repeating things to serve a purpose or to do well. when was the last time you actually phoned someone to repeat something positive that was said about him or her? why not do it today.

3. I'm proud of your work, here is a little something for you.

Reward and recognise hard work when you see it. Be it in the work place or at home with the children. Too often people are called into offices or by parents to hear about what they have done wrong, what about rewarding them for the difference they have made and the hard work they have put in as of late or the excellent quality of work they have been producing.?
Don't assume that just because a worker or student is always an achiever that he /she doesn't need to hear "well done"every now and then, and if someone is battling with their work, recognise the smallest improvement and see how quickly they will continue to improve.

4. You  look really smart today.

Have you ever walked passed a total stranger and complimented them? How often have you seen an old man or lady whom have gone to the effort of dressing so smartly or beautifully for their day just to go down to the shops? wouldn't it be wonderful if you just stopped the gentleman and said "I just wanted to tell you how smart you look this morning, have a lovely day", smile and walk off.
Those words may be simple to you, but perhaps the person you have said it to is lonely , has no family or friends near by and craves warmth, by just telling him how smart he looks and acknowledging him, you have made his day. Why must society always see it as "a come on line" if a gentleman genuinely says, "Excuse me, I just wanted to tell you that you look beautiful today"
Break the mould attached to the same old tiring phobia's that society create and compliment a stranger whom you can see has made an effort to look smart today.
Wouldn't it make YOU smile?

5.You have a good heart

Have you ever watched someone as they have done a kind gesture, or encouraged a person who's confidence is broken, or heard them say the most beautiful / kindest of things to someone who is going through troubled times. Have you ever seen someone give up something they love to help someone more unfortunate than they are , I have seen it so many times, and when I have actually gone up to the person and complimented them on their good heart, firstly they were non the wiser I was watching and initially feel shy, but suddenly you can see a little smile as they realise , "hey , actually what I did do there WAS VERY NICE" secondly, you'll find that person will do alot more kind compassionate things thereafter because it felt good to them that not only did they help someone but someone else reminded them about what a good heart they have.

SO HOW MANY AWESOME THINGS ARE YOU GOING TO SAY TO SOMEONE TODAY? THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF IT ALL, IS MAKE SURE WHEN YOU DO SAY THOSE WORDS, YOU MEAN EVERY SINGLE LETTER THAT LEAVES YOUR LIPS.

SEIZE the Day Special friend,

Let only beautiful words leave your lips, be the first to smile and always be the first to say hello!!

NEW ADVENTURES AND PROMISES AWAIT US TODAY!!

Love
Nadia

Whether YOU THINK you CAN or whether YOU THINK you CANT......you right!

THE ASTONISHING STORY OF THE MAN BORN WITHOUT ARMS OR LEGS… WHO PLAYS GOLF, SURFS, AND SWIMS :

NICK VUJICIC was born with no arms or legs , but with courage greater than any mountain I have ever seen, strength stronger than any lion ever challenged and passion and positivity that flow out of him like a raging volcano.
The brave 29 year old young man is very active, he plays football, golf , swims, and surfs despite having no limbs.
Nick has a small foot on his left hip which helps him balance and enables him to kick. He uses his one foot to type, write, and pick things up with.
BUT it took a very long time for Nick to emotionally and mentally get to where he is now .
At the tender age of ten, Nick tried to drown himself in the bath but fortunately the attempt was unsuccessful as clearly his future to inspire was mapped out for him.
‘I felt there was no purpose, and when you lack purpose and strength it is hard to hold on,’ he said.
But with the help of his religion, friends and family, Nick managed to pull through to become an international symbol of triumph over adversity and now travels the world inspiring young and old, rich and poor as he does his motivational talks.
Nick is now married to the lovely girl with dark hair (sitting on the beach with him in the photos at the bottome) and has found total happiness.
Nick has turned his pain, challenges, humiliations and  stumbling blocks into total victory and inspirational courage. He is the voice, image and soul of the real meaning of COURAGE!!
You know what I love the most about Nick………………….NICK CHOSE COURAGE, HE CHOSE VICTORY, HE CHOSE HEALING, HE CHOSE BELIEF, HE CHOSE POSITIVE THINKING, AND HE CHOSE LIFE!!!!
I hope some of Nicks contagious fire in his soul has kick started something in you to finally understand and see that if YOU CHOOSE to respect the power of your mind, train it positively and constantly, and if YOU CHOOSE  to keep going, keep fighting and eventually aim to win what ever battle it is you are going through , then my friend  you are on the road to choosing
LIFE!!
Remember my post earlier this week (and re read the title to this article) YOU ARE SOMEONE’S HAPPINESS, YOU ARE SOMEONES ROCK, YOU ARE SOMEONES HERO, YOU ARE LOVED AND NEEDED. IF YOU WONT DO IT FOR YOU, DO IT FOR THE HAPPINESS OF THAT SPECIAL SOUL(S) WHO IS IN YOUR LIFE.

Sending you much COURAGE and STRENGTH

Love
Nadia

Behind every smile lies the cutting truth

So maybe you have had a bad day, and you wondering how on earth you going to get through the evening or the rest of the day for that matter, well let me share a little secret with you!! WE ALL HAVE THEM, just because I have started this blog does not mean by any means that I no longer have bad or sad days, it just means I have found the tools in life to make those moments come and go far quicker than they used to, and I am able to cope with my emotions without having a "edward scissor hand "moment with my arms, and or it also means I have found tools that have equiped me to move out of this " bad zone" far quicker than before, and that is why I want to share these ideas with you, because maybe these techniques help YOU TOO!! WHO KNOWS!!

Anyway, what I want to tell you is that whenever I am having a challenging moment in my work area, personal life, or just a bad ME day, there is ONE SONG I find that gives me strength like you cannot believe, it motivates me to believe I am SUPER HUMAN and that I am able to get through whatever moment it is I am having, and you know what........??? I am sure it will do the same for you too.

As always with you tube, it takes a while to completely down load the song, push pause until it has completely buffered, but please click on link below and listen, especially if right now you are having a CRAPPY MOMENT (giggle), wow we certainly all have those dont we, what you need to learn is while having these moments is to
 1. FEEL IT, dont ignore it,
 2. LISTEN TO WHRE IT COMES FROM.
 2. FACE THE FEAR OF FEELING THE EMOTION FOR A SHORT WHILE
 3. AND LASTLY FRIENDS, TAKE BACK CONTROL OF YOUR THOUGHTS AND MIND and listen to this song..........read the lyrics below and listen to words.........YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY.

You will laugh, but i have had mornings where I have felt a little rotten........instead of pitying and entertaining those moments , I played this song on repeat, let me tell you, after 15 minutes , I felt as RIGHT AS RAIN.

BELIEVE IT, FEEL IT, CLAIM IT, OWN IT............DONT just EXIST, but CHOOSE TO LIVE........

You shout it out
But I can't hear a word you say
I'm talking loud not saying much
I'm criticized but all your bullets ricochet
You shoot me down, but I get up

[Chorus]
I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/d/david_guetta/titanium.html ]
[Sia]
Cut me down
But it's you who has further to fall
Ghost town, haunted love
Raise your voice, sticks and stones may break my bones
I'm talking loud not saying much

[Chorus]
I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
I am titanium

[Sia]
Stone-hard
Firing at the ones who run
Stone-hard, those bulletproof glass

[Chorus]
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
I am titanium

Its ok to finallly let go............I know it hurts.

Sometimes we all need a little reminder about what is good for us and what will assist us in falling. Its not always easy to let go of something good when you feel it has helped you for so long, but when you sit back, reflect and ponder on the future and what kind of life it will bring you and the answer is zero, its time to pull the plug , walk away and dry your tears, no matter how painful it may be.......because at the end of the day, the strength lies not in the pain you feel or the person or situation you have left, but the core of your soul which echos the words of courage and growth and love, all the things one should experience on a daily level in life.........LIVE LIFE, DONT CHOOSE TO EXIST. CHOOSE TO LIVE. YOU my beautiful friend HAVE A FIRE BURNING SO DEEP , SO STRONG AND SO BEAUTIFUL IN YOUR SOUL that it will allow you to survive the most painful of challenges. DIG DEEP, BELIEVE IN YOU AND TRUST IN YOU!!! the rest will follow.........

Your in my thoughts........

much love

7 things you can do to become a star at work - Robin Sharma

"We all want to find a way to climb the corporate ladder or be noticed in the work force. Here Robin Sharma shares 7 outstanding tips on how to do exactly that, but in a realistic , achievable way!!

In the words of the brilliant life / career coach ,  Robin Sharma.

"Here are 7  things you can do over the next 10 days to become a star at work:

1. Take your hero to lunch.
Find someone who has created the kind of professional
and personal life that you want and have the courage to take them out to lunch. If
there is an author you admire and she lives in your city, pick up the phone and ask
for a meeting. If you just read an inspiring article about someone who had turned
adversity into advantage and you know you can learn from him, send out an e-mail
and open up the lines of communication. In this new knowledge economy, the
person who learns the most wins. Learn from heroes.

2. Set "learning goals."
Most wise performers on the playing field of business set
career, financial and personal goals but few set specific learning goals. For this year, I
have set clear objectives as to how many books I will read, how many seminars I will
attend and how many personal growth retreats I will visit. I also try and set a daily
learning quota of three new things every day to keep me stimulated and excited
about my work as a professional speaker and leadership coach.

3. Become indispensable.
While working at a major league legal firm after I had
completed law school, I asked one of the senior partners what one had to do in
order to become successful at this firm. His response has never left me and has been
exceedingly helpful. "Robin," he said, "the real secret of success is to be so good at
what you do that this firm will not be able to run without you. Be so good at what
you do that you are the first person that we all think of when we need advice. Be so
good at what you do that you become indispensable. Then your success will be
assured." So my challenge to you is this: pick your best three talents - 3 core
competencies that you have that truly make you special - and then commit to
refining them over the coming twelve months until they set you apart from the
crowd. Make a personal vow that you will become so good at your professional craft
that you become indispensable to your team and to your organization as a whole.
Then watch your career soar.

4. Make time to think.
It is a strange paradox of the frenzied age that we live in that
we have become so busy that we do not even have time to think about the things
that we are so busy about. We spend our days on projects that need to get done and
in meetings that need to be attended. We spend our evenings with people we need to
meet and doing activities that need to be completed. But let me ask you: when was
the last time you went for a solitary walk in the woods and deeply reflected on the
way you are working and living? When was the last time you took a few hours to gain
3 robinsharma.com
some real clarity into where you want to be professional and personally five years
from now? Henry David Thoreau said: "It is not enough to be busy, so are the ants.
The question is what are you so busy with?" Carve out at least one hour every week
for some serious reflection, introspection and self-examination so that you will keep
learning from your weeks.

5. Start a reading group at work.
If you want to be a leader, you must first become a
reader. Knowing how to read and not doing so puts you in precisely the same
position as someone who cannot read. We live in an age where ideas - not bricks and
mortar - are the currency of success. One idea, well executed, can transform your
team, your culture and your entire organization. One idea, read in a single book, can
reshape your thinking processes, transform your character or renew your health.
Here's the thing: you just don't know which book contains that one idea that will
revolutionize your life. But believe me, it is out there. And it is waiting for you. Read
daily and ensure those around you do the same. The company that learns together
stays together.

6. Look like a star. Get serious about physical mastery.
Commit to being in peak
shape so you increase your energy levels and enhance your stamina. Rekindle that
healthy glow that comes from running or swimming or going for a brisk walk at
lunch. And make the time to dress and conduct yourself in a way that conveys your
commitment to excellence, not only in business but in life.

7. Think contribution.
We all have a deep human hunger to be a part of something
larger than ourselves. We all carry within us a core craving to do something
important in our work lives and know that, at the end of the day, our energies have
been invested in activities that have added value to the world and made a difference
in people's lives. Begin to see the higher meaning of the work that you are doing and
stay focused on adding value to others. As the 13th Century philosopher Rumi said:
"When you are dead, seek for your resting place not in the earth but in the hearts of
men."

Truth behind the bright lights

We have been in communication for a few weeks now, so I thought I would introduce you  to another dimension of my life which I have been doing from the age of 15 years old- modelling.
Ironically behind all the photo shoots was the great cover up of some of my scarring from self harm caused by cutting my arms or burning them but fortunately we were generally able to hide it with make up.
(Infact I cant help but remember some people spoke about some of my scars again many years down the line at a totally different shoot as they didnt recognize me, but thats a whole new story which I will share another time with you.)

I guess what I am trying to show you is that even what you or who you see in magazines may not appear what they appear to be and behind every smile is a story, for many many years, I hid my story and the scarring on my arms, but at a quick glance, I seemed healthy, well and all in control.
I did photographic modelling, ramp modelling, tv adverts, tv shows, and movies, all of which the make up artists were asked by myself to cover my arms as under the brutal bright camera lights, there is no mercy to scarring.
At the end of the day we all have our own demons we fight or have had to fight, and only YOU know the real story, the real feelings and the truth.
Remember that YOU KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW, AND YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU DONT KNOW, so dont claim to know the facts of someones life, or rumour, or situation, because I guarentee you, you only know perhaps a third of what the real story is, or what that person is going through.
Reserve your judgment
Reserve your opinion
and ask yourself is what I am going to repeat or spread right now going to benefit anyone??

Be what you were born to be:

Compassionate
loving
Kind
Forgiving
Supportive

Becuase you will never know when you may need the same kind of love or mercy down the line.
